On my mind

I participate in this feature which I found here

This is a Friday photo feature that anyone with a blog can join. To take part, post a photo on your own blog, write a short caption explaining it, and link it back to here from your blog by saying you're part of "On my mind". Please write a new post, don't link to an older one. When you've done that, come back here and add a comment below, with a link to your blog.
This is on my mind:

Last night Kapiti College had their annual Sports Dinner to celebrate the successes of their students. We have been fortunate to be invited for the last 3 years to see our girls be presented with several sports' trophies for running, swimming and triathlons. For the previous 2 years Kate, our oldest had won the Sports Person of the Year. She was joined this year by Alice who won the Cross Country trophy.

The guest speaker, Ewen Thompson, an ex Black Caps cricketer spoke of the importance of perseverance and believing in yourself. He also spoke of how sport crosses over to other parts of your life including your studies. We have found how true this is with Kate and Alice who are growing up to be well rounded, in this nicest possible way young adults. Their dedication in sport has been also demonstrated in their academic pursuits.
