About Me

Hi my name is Paul.

I am married and have 2 beautiful girls whom I am very proud of.  My family and I live here on the beautiful Kapiti Coast in New Zealand.  For the past 17 years I have been teaching primary school children and I love sharing my interests with my students and inspiring them to greatness!  For the past decade I have developed a number of initiatives to extend the students in my class and I am especially proud of developing a programme called Glossary that the children are really excited about.

Apart from teaching, I am passionate about running.  I have been running competitively for the past 4 decades and am extremely proud to have represented New Zealand at a number of world championship events.

My other passion includes singing and songwriting.  I have written a number of songs which my students really enjoy and I am especially keen to explore ways my music could be used in my lesson plans in class. I simply love watching learning come alive with music!  I am proud of a picture book called "You're not eating me" which I wrote and published after a lesson on Alliteration in class and included is a CD containing 13 original songs including a very catchy "You're not eating me" song.   It is available here.

I have just updated my website where you will be able to listen to a number of the songs I wrote.  I'd love to know what you think! You can contact me on this blog or here or at jo.paulf@paradise.net.nz.
