Arrived in Germany on a Wednesday. My flight landed in Frankfurt and from there I needed to take the Ice Train to Buhl. The precision of the German trains is exemplary as they run like clock work and seats are allocated and checked by guards that everyone is in the right place at the right time.
From there it was a short bus ride to my accomodation in Buhlertal at the foot of the Black Forest. I arrived at the Hotel Adler jet lagged and in desperate need of a freshen up after travelling for about 35 hours.
Unfortunately on arrival my room wasn't yet ready so I thought the next best thing was to sample the local German beer while I waited.
I took a short walk into the village. Buhlertal is a lovely picturesque township! I love the architecture of their buildings.
I was especially happy with my new home for the next few days.
Stay tuned as there is plenty more to come!

It looks beautiful over there. How did the German beer compare to the Kiwi brands?
Wow, that was some journey - no wonder you were jet-lagged.
It does look lovely though.
That is a big glass of beer! I bet you were too tired to even finish it. :-). Hope you are over the jet lag now.
The pictures reminded me of Austria... both countries specialise in the picturesque.
It looks beautiful there. Love your home for the time you were there. When we get to England in June we are hoping to make it to Europe for a short time, maybe even Germany, especially after seeing your pictures.
