Queenstown Dining

I'm back on holiday again in Queenstown. Not actually but with this post I am. I took far too many photos and had too many great experiences to not document the rest of my holiday through my blog. Hope I don't bore you too much!

Our family has been holidaying almost yearly in the South Island as both Jo and I have our parents there. We like to go home for Xmas and visits as often as we can as our parents are now in to their 80's.

I last left my holiday with my paragliding adventure and hiking in Queenstown. We decided to dine out on our last night in Queenstown at a pizza restaurant called The Cow. It is a family tradition to go there as they cook the most amazing pizzas and this time was no exception. I'll now let the pictures speak for themselves!

Queenstown Part 1

After the excitement of Paragliding it was down to earth with taking in some of the sights of Queenstown at ground level.

Queenstown is a mecca of tourism because of it's beautiful location nestled beside Lake Wakatipu and surrounded by the Remarkables mountain range and other majestic peaks.

We started our second day by having a walk around the Millbrook Resort. A place where the rich and famous go to relax in picturesque surroundings.

After that we visited the ancient town of Arrowtown.

At the fringe of the town we investigated some remains of an ancient Indian settlement. Large numbers of Indian immigrants came and settled in Arrowtown to try and make their fortune during the Gold Rush!

It was another warm day and we desperately needed to cool off at the lake.

After a few hours of being a tourist we headed back to our accomodation for some rest and relaxation!


For dinner we headed into town for the biggest burgers we had ever eaten! They were delicious!

Mt Dewar

I will keep this post short as I have punctures to fix and I think the photos explain better than I can do with words!

While in Queenstown during our Xmas holiday we did lots of fun activities and great hiking! One of these hikes was a 2 hour return hike up to the summit of Mt Dewar. It was a hot day on a dirt road but well worth it for the views from the top.

I'll let the photos tell the adventure! Apologies girls for including the photos but the scenery is too good to leave them out. Victor you are sworn to secrecy! Not a word to the Kate!
